The Happy Chicken Project

The happy chicken project has been a fun one. We partnered with some people that no something about chickens! cause we don't!!! They teach them how to care for, keep them healthy, and feed them with local plants and berries. They attend the training and then they have to build a coop and some more training and then we give them some chicks! they have to keep dogs, cats, rats and kids away from them!

Training

Part of the training had a community development aspect, it encourages them to teach others what they have learnt.

The Community at the End of Airport

Can you guess where a community called the End of Airport is located? These people live on this land but it is a tough place to live. The planes fly low right over your head and you have to wade across a small river to get there. We built or repaired about 35 homed here after Cyclone Pam and have been back helping since Cyclone Donna.

Repairing and cleaning water tanks

They love to have their picture taken

One of the shelters that is still not completed. we helped build to this stage and then they are supposed to finish.

This used to be a small creek with flourishing gardens but the last cyclone and rains forged a river through this area leaving destruction and a large valley.

Evertone has a bush knife!!

Finished home
